Vintage 1940s New York Yankees Photograph Collection (21)
Collection of twenty-one vintage photographs, each capturing one or more members of the New York Yankees, including numerous examples featuring Joe DiMaggio and Phil Rizzuto. All are International News photos, twelve of which include the original paper news caption. The dates on the news captions range between the years 1947 and 1950, and it appears that the remainder of the photos are also from the same time period. DiMaggio is featured in nine photos and Rizzuto eight. Many of the Rizzuto photos capture the "Scooter" in the act of turning double plays or or sliding. Other players pictured include Allie Reynolds, Gene Woodling, Yogi Berra, and Tommy Henrich. There is also a team photo of the 1950 World Champion Yankees. Nearly all the photos measure 7x9" and are in Very Good condition overall. Please note: While these are all vintage photos and we believe nearly all are original from the period, none have been evaluated by PSA, therefore no guarantees are made regarding any specific Type designations.
