Vintage Deerborn Michigan and Ford Motor Plant Photograhs (20)
The Ford motor Company's Rouge Plant in Dearborn Michigan was the biggest single industrial unit in the world in its day. In this lot of (20) vintage news service and wire photos, the plant is awe inspiring in its heyday of 1941 and a polluting behemoth by 1970 when it was taken to court by Wayne County on pollution charges. Other images include: a beautifully lit Ford rotunda, resplendent as a birthday cake for Ford's 50th anniversary in 1953; an early glimpse of future suburbia in a 500 home Dearborn housing project developed in 1948 by the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company. Sized from 7x9" to 8x12", the wire photos have either front captions or caption sheets. All are at least VG with many NM/MT.
