We skipped the light fandango, turned cartwheels cross the floor... The beginning lyrics to the million selling 1967 hit “A Whiter Shade of Pale” by the British rock group Procol Harum. The song’s co-writer and lead vocalist is Gary Brooker and true rock fans can remember this memorable song thanks to his hand written and signed set of lyrics. Also mounted alongside these classic rock lyrics is the original 45 rpm record of the song. Released on the Deram label, you can almost imagine opening up your record player, slipping in a plastic spindle adaptor and listening again to the easy danceable sounds of Procol Harum. Along with a title card, this entire beautifully framed piece (there’s a tiny 1/2” crack at the top of the glass) measures 28” x 25” (approx).What a great opportunity for you to come back to the late 60s when it seemed like everyone was turning a whiter shade of pale.
