Will Wedge's 1940-45 Giants & Yankees Scorecards (900+)
This collection of well over 900 items (each measuring approximately 4 1/4 x 6 3/4 inches) contains personal score sheets from sportswriter Will Wedge, who covered the New York Giants and Yankees in the 1940s. They record nearly every Giants game from 1940 and '41, and the Bronx Bombers from '42 through '45. Each sheet is scored on both sides and includes pre-season as well as World Series contests. Almost every sheet contains the attendance and many feature side notes written by Wedge, including player feats, streaks, war news, and other notable events. Some have attached newspaper clippings.
