Willie Mays Signed "The Catch" Oversized Photo in Framed Display
Willie Mays made what is considered to be one of the all time greatest catches in baseball history. It was game 1 of the 1954 World Series at the Polo Grounds; NY Giants vs. the Cleveland Indians. Sal "The Barber" Maglie, after a Leo Durocher trip to the mound, had just been relieved by Don Liddle. Liddle gave up the towering fly ball that some say traveled over 450 feet, which would have made it a home run in most stadiums, but not at the Polo Grounds where Mays ran it down and caught it football style over the shoulder for the out. This nicely matted and framed photo of "The Catch" measures 19" x 22" framed and has been signed in mint blue marker by Willie Mays himself. COA.
