Wilt Chamberlain's Philadelphia 76ers Retirement Jersey
White cotton throwback jersey is a dead ringer for the 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers home jersey. This is the jersey that the team presented to Philadelphia native, Wilt Chamberlain in the pre-game ceremony on March 18, 1991, the day they retired his number. Chamberlain’s jersey became the fifth number to be retired by the 76ers, joining Billy Cunningham (32), Hal Greer (15), Bobby Jones (24) & Julius Erving (6). How else could Philadelphia honor the most dominating force the NBA had ever seen? Wilt the Stilt retired as one of only 2 players in history to score over 30,000 points and as the career leader in rebounds (23,924). The jersey commemorates the season in which the Philadelphia 76ers and Wilt Chamberlain captured the World Championship. “Phila 13” fills the front in red on blue tackle twill. Verso is his number “13”. Embroidered in blue thread on the front tail is “W.C. 1966-67.” No additional tagging. In beautiful NRMT condition. Includes LOA plus a copy of the 76ers news release regarding the retirement ceremony.
