Wilt Chamberlain 1975 Southern California Bangers Volleyball Game Worn Jersey (ex-John Hamilton, Early Leland's)
In addition to his passion for basketball, Wilt Chamberlain had a mean spike on the volleyball court, not only playing professionally but also serving as president of the International Volleyball Association in 1977. Wilt was actually an early investor in the league, and owned the Southern California Bangers franchise during the inaugural 1975 season. This white mesh top was worn by The Stilt, with "BANGERS" ironed in felt lettering below his 13 on the front, and "WILT" above the same number on back. Designed to be reversible, this jersey only has lettering on the white side, and the red side has been taped, likely for display purposes. A printed tail tag has the number 2196 with Southern Athletic manufacturer's logo. Chamberlain's Bangers folded after the '75 season, making this great top even more rare; Wilt continued to play sporadically and served as one of the faces of the league throughout the late 1970s.
