Wilt Chamberlain Game Worn Overbrook High School Jersey
Before the scoring records, the rebounding records, before the game he dominated was forced to alter its rules to contain him, and even before he was “The Stilt”, Wilt Chamberlain was just a regular 7’0” tall 250 pound kid from Philadelphia. Wearing this black cotton knit jersey he would take the court nightly for Overbrook High School and plant the seeds of a legend that continues to grow today. The armholes and neckline are trimmed in orange to match the felt lettering and numbers. “Overbrook” arches across the chest above his number “5” with a larger “5” on the reverse. The jersey shows moderate use and exhibits a small pull on the right under arm and three black ink dots on the right armhole. Neither detracts from its astonishing visual appeal or its place as one of the most significant game used pieces in basketball today. Mounted in a 29x46” box frame above Wilt’s original “O” varsity letter and originally obtained from the Chamberlain Estate.
