Wilt Chamberlain Los Angeles Lakers Signed Jersey

Wilt Chamberlain Los Angeles Lakers Signed Jersey

Wilt Chamberlain was a one-of-a-kind basketball player. To possess a signed Wilt Chamberlain Lakers' jersey is not technically a one-of-a-kind opportunity, but it is certainly a rare chance to own the signed jersey of this all-time legend. When Chamberlain, playing for the Philadelphia Warriors, scored 100 points against the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962, he broke his own NBA record of 78 points in one game. As shocking as scoring 100 points in one game may be, Wilt's season statistics for that 1961-62 season may be even more outrageous. The Big Dipper, as he liked to be called, averaged an unbelievable 50.4 PPG that year, by far the highest scoring average ever in professional basketball. If a center, as Wilt was, now grabs 10 rebounds in a game. he is usually praised and has a double-double if he adds just 10 points. Wilt had higher standards. He averaged a magnificent 25.7 total rebounds a game in 1961-62. Hall of Famer Chamberlain was a 7-time NBA Scoring Champion, a 4-time MVP and a 2-time NBA Champion. Wilt played the final five seasons of his professional career with the Lakers, and he helped Los Angeles win an NBA Championship in 1971-72. The purple jersey is in excellent condition, and it has "Lakers" in gold across the chest. On the back is "Chamberlain" in gold letters with white trim. A tag on the left side lower tail reads," 100% nylon and has washing instructions. Numerals on the front and back show Wilt's number "13" in gold with white trim. The offering presents the signed jersey of a basketball legend - one who was not afraid to wear number 13, his number in high school. Wilt signed on the number 1 part of his number 13 on the back. The signature is faded but still legible. When Wilt was once asked if he thought wearing number 13 would bring him bad luck, Wilt said, "No. It will bring my opponents bad luck" There is only one Wilt Chamberlain.
