What a find! This beautifully restored 1917 Mutoscope comes with removable wood sign which reads “Real Movies! World War 1 Newsreel” - and all for just 10 cents. Face of early peep show device has an iron viewfinder (reads “International Mutoscope Reel Co. New York”), a bronze coin slot (reads “Push Coin in Slot then Turn Crank to the Right,” engraved “B 68” serial number, and “Mutoscope” trademark) and silver hand crank. Flip book-style photographic prints are contained inside, and turn out quite an excellent movie. All red with yellow pinstriping, it is a gorgeous piece. Measures 15x14x40”.
