Resplendent bronze sign weighs an amazing sixty-five pounds. This illustrious piece once stood at the entrance to the House That Ruth Built inside the main entrance behind the ticket booths at Yankee Stadium. Definitive signpost up ahead in rich patina reads the stirring, "New York Yankees." Installed around 1940, it was one of three such markers on this hallowed ground. By Honeyspot Monument Works in Bridgeport, Connecticut. These same people are famous for making Babe Ruth's gravestone. Torn out when Yankee Stadium was rebuilt in 1973, this was obtained by famed record producer Phil Spector who later donated it to a 1988 Special Olympics charity auction.
