Yankee Stadium Original Signs (2)
Before the old Yankee Stadium was remodeled after the 1973 season, several signs were dislodged from the antiquated ballpark, including this forest green enameled sign which reads: PLEASE DO NOT REACH OUT OF BOX FOR BASEBALLS. OFFENDERS WILL BE EJECTED" and shows minimal wear. It measures 10" x 3", hails from a Box Seat wall and is in EX condition. Also included in this lot is a subway sign that announces: "161 ST RIVER AV YANKEE STADIUM." The black and white sign measures roughly 12" x 14" and shows evidence of use with numerous scratches. Two wear marks appear on the front from where bolts are welded to the reverse. The remodeled stadium has also since been demolished in favor of the modern, state-of-the-art facility now in its sixth season.
