Another in the series of "Lip Salve Letters," written during a tour of the "fine German territories," as he says. Segueing right into the salve, he writes, "Your salve is part of me, and that's the way it's going to be until I die," adding that he's given a box to musicians "when they have difficulties with their chops. (I mean, their lips. Ha Ha.)" It concludes, "Always grateful, Louis Armstrong." Signature is 9/10. In red ink, on stationery of the Conti-Hansa Hotel in Kiel. 6 x 7", slightly yellowed, one fold. VG-EX.
