1880 Hobart Van Alstyne Identified Professional Baseball Player Carte-de-Visite
Offered here is a carte-de-visite circa 1880s photograph of Hobart Van Alstyne from New York. He enjoyed an excellent career in the high minor leagues from 1885-1897 including teams like Syracuse, Binghamton, Jersey City, Fall River, etc. A great early image of this fine player and apparently the only one we know of depicting him in uniform. Logo on verso of photographer G.H. Bailey, Fayetteville, NY. Bottom is trimmed, otherwise EX condition.
