1896 Baltimore Baseball Club Programs (9 different)

1896 Baltimore Baseball Club Programs (9 different)

If there is a better grouping of these known to exist, we are not aware of them. Each one has a different player pictured on the front; specifically Steve Brodie, Jack Doyle, George Hemming, Bill Clarke, Sadie McMahon, Joe Kelly, Arlie Pond, Bill Hoffer and manager Ned Hanlon, who led the Orioles to a Major League-best 90-39-3 record in 1896. These beautifully colored 6x9" scorebooks are in very pleasing condition, mostly VG-EX. All are scored in pencil and feature opposing teams such as the New York Giants, Washington Nationals, Pittsburg Pirates (during the window when the city dropped the "h" from the city name), Cincinnati Reds, Louisville Colonels, Chicago Colts, Boston Beaneaters and Philadelphia Phillies, which boasted Hall of Famer Ed Delahanty, who led the National League in homers, RBI and doubles that season. Vintage ads throughout the books lift this lot to even loftier heights. A collector's heaven!
