1910 Jack Johnson Champion of the World Bronze
A seminal figure in boxing history, Jack Johnson dominated the sport from 1908-1915 while earning the distinction of being the first ever African-American Heavyweight Champion. Made of iron, apparently as a mold, this dense 3x6x8" piece weighs a surprising 45 pounds. Inside reads "Champion of the World, J. Arthur Johnson, Reno 1910," referring to his legendary "Fight of the Century" against former champ James Jeffries. Amidst a swirl of racial tensions leading up to the fight, the challenger's corner threw in the towel in the 15th round, completing Johnson's powerful performance.
