1915 Jack Johnson vs. Jess Willard Full Ticket
On April 5, 1915, World Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson defended his title against the big Kansan Jess Willard in Havana, Cuba. Johnson, then 37 years old, could not keep up with Willard and succumbed to his pressure, and the heat, along with a big right hand in the 26th round to lose his title. Presented here is a full, unused ticket to the event. This extremely rare ticket is in VG condition. There is a small corner crease in the lower right corner. The stubs are firmly attached. There is back damage from being glued down. A few minor stains on the front. A fine companion piece to the Jack Johnson “Confession” Letter also offered in this sale.
