1921 "Babe Ruth" Folk Art Presentation Bat Award to Charles Parker Company

1921 "Babe Ruth" Folk Art Presentation Bat Award to Charles Parker Company

Nearly a century old, this award was a definite home run for one lucky employee. Two pieces, shaped as a bat at the handle with a paddle end inserted into a slot, one side has Babe Ruth's name while the other says: Won by the Star Batsman of the Main Office Ball Team, Foremens Outing of the Charles Parker Co., Double Beack - July - 30 - 1921." Family owned for generations, the Charles Parker Company manufactured a variety of items, most notably lighting products. This splendid folk art piece is hand-painted with interesting striping on knob. The aging writing blends somewhat with the dark wood grain, but the vintage feel of this piece is evident at first glance, making it a timeless classic.
