1921 Miller Huggins Signed New York Yankees Payroll Check (PSA)
Expense check issued in 1921 to New York Yankees manager Miller Huggins includes the signature of the Hall of Fame skipper on the reverse. Huggins' signature is in black ink while Hall of Fame owner Jacob Ruppert's is on front of the check, issued by the American League Base Ball Club of New York Inc. in the amount of $328.38. Check has two creases but presents beautifully, measuring 9x3.125". After a somewhat nondescript career as a player, Huggins found his niche as a helmsman, managing the Yanks from 1918-29, including the vaunted "Murderers' Row" era in which New York reeled off six American League pennants while claiming three World Series titles. Encapsulated by PSA as Authentic Auto for the autographs of both Yankees legends.
