1922 Wearwell (Goldsmith) Salesman's Sample Catalogue with Honus Wagner Cover
Rare 1922 "Base Ball Uniforms" catalogue of Wearwell Flannels, the Canadian version of the Cincinnati-based P. Goldsmith's Sons sports apparel company, which outfitted major leaguers down to sandlot leaguers from the early 1900s to the 1940s. Comes complete with 45 actual flannel and cotton swatches in varying colors and patterns. On the cover is a terrific photo of a kneeling Honus Wagner, and other famous big leaguers are pictured inside (though unnamed) including Ty Cobb, Joe Collins, Walter Johnson, and Three Fingers Brown wearing their home uniforms in color-tinted images highlighting sections of the catalogue, such as World Series Uniform, Pacific Coast Uniform, State League Uniform, Juvenile League Uniform, etc. Cover VG, contents EX, slight foxing on upper right of cover and pages as well as scattered soiling. 7 x 10", 12 pages.
