1924 Tomas Gutierrez Tobacco Premium Album with Major Leaguers (Ruth, Cobb, etc.)
Rare and fascinating premium card album features U.S. Major Leaguers as opposed to Cubans. All 16 teams are represented in two-page spreads with images of their cards from and separate from the extremely rare and desirable 1924 Tomas Gutierrez Cuban baseball card set. Quality of the paper is magnificent, taking a page from the tobacco advertising of the era. There are even tissue overlays over each page to protect the coated "cigar label" stock. Some of the cards are featured in the 1924 set of pitchers only, but also includes hundreds of additional player images not known to exist in any Cuban card sets, including dozens of Hall of Famers, such as Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, and Tris Speaker, among others. Complete albums are nearly impossible, with only a few known to exist. This is one of the finest known and as individual cards would bring in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Overall EX.
