1927 Babe Ruth Swinging at Fenway Glass Plate
The curse of the Bambino started here! Here we have a rare vintage glass plate negative showing Babe Ruth as a New York Yankee in 1927, swinging in the park that remains cursed ‘til this day! These gelatin dry glass plate negatives are superior in detail and contrast to any previous process, and were used primarily from the 1880’s through the 1920’s. They are now extremely hard to find, and one as prominent as this one is surely a treasure to lock away. Photo shows Ruth in follow through after getting a hit, as he starts his move toward first base. A timeless image imprinted on the most desirable type of vintage film there is. Measures 4x5”. Excellent condition except for some minor chipping to one edge (this does not affect the actual image itself). Comes with a printed photo made from the original.
