A fascinating October 22nd, 1927 correspondence on personalized stationery from the agent of both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig to his mother during the two titans’ barnstorming yet friendly post-season home run battle. The letter is a brief goodbye before he rushed off to meet his clients in Syracuse for a trip that will take him through seven states to help campaign for Democratic Presidential hopeful Al Smith, a native New Yorker. Signed “Christy” at the end, in EX condition. A strange artifact of the colossal Gehrig/Ruth competition.
