1928 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig "Al Smith Presidential Campaign" Signed Martin Guitar (PSA)

1928 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig "Al Smith Presidential Campaign" Signed Martin Guitar (PSA)

Crossover gem was signed at campaign stop for the Presidential campaign of "New Yawka" Al Smith. Signed by the two legends that made sweet music together on the ball field, we all knew that Ruth was for the New York Irishman but it seems Gehrig was in there as well. The Home Run Twins appear perpendicular to one another almost as if it is Ruth on the sweet spot and Gehrig on the side panel. The names appear among well over 100 other signings by stage, screen, and radio personalities that were there for this mega event. We have seen photos of Ruth at the event stumping for Smith but they are wearing VIP badges in the accompanying photograph reading "A. Smith". While their blue ink signatures have faded a bit, they still rate a 6/10. Almost as desirable as the Ruth and Gehrig signatures, is this outstanding vintage guitar where the signatures are found. The 1920's Martin 12-fret short scale guitar is completely original down to the often replaced or broken tuning machines (but damage free in this case). The guitar has an outstanding patina, presents very well and is extremely attractive with all of the signatures. The case is all original and the purple velvet interior is colorful and intact along with all of its hardware. Although the handle has come off, it does remain with the case. This exceptional crossover piece was once part of the Barry Halper collection it is actually photo matched. Comes with photograph of Ruth and Gehrig signing it. Comes with PSA LOA.
