1930 Babe Ruth "$80,000 Contract" Original Artwork

1930 Babe Ruth "$80,000 Contract" Original Artwork

Impressive original artwork of Babe Ruth from 1932, the piece measures 21x18" framed and matted. The artwork pictures a looming Babe writing a note to Yankee management concerning his salary for the 1932 season. While all other stars of the day were taking massive pay cuts, the Babe was so valuable to the Yankees that his salary was cut only $5,000 for the 1932 season. Even in 1934, with the Babe on the decline, his salary was $35,000, an amount greater than any other player in the game. The piece appears to be in Excellent condition with a brief description in the bottom left hand corner covering half of the artist‚s name.
