Collection of Atley Donald wire photographs (11). Donald was a NY Yankee pitcher from 1938 thru 1945. In 1939 as a rookie he won his first 12 games and finished the season 13-3. Original photos are 3" x 7" to 8" x 11 1/2" in size, VG-NRMT condition. A photo from July, 1941, "Donald Puts the Hex on that Feller" shows Donald pitching during a 4-3 Yankee victory over Bob Feller and the Indians. Another shows Donald "grinning" after a pennant clinching victory over the Boston Red Sox in early September, 1941. The Yankees went on the defeat the Brooklyn Dodgers in the World Series that year in five games.
