1930s Baseball Autograph Book with Ruth and Gehrig
Vintage baseball autograph book circa 1930 contains over 250 signatures, including some of the biggest names in the history of the American pastime. Autographs are written on over 30 pages; some are signed in ink and others appear in pencil. The signatures include two each from Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Mel Ott; others include Luke Appling, Luke Sewell, Earl Averill, Dizzy Vance, Bucky Harris, Sal Maglie, Hank Greenberg, Frank Crosetti, Charlie Ruffing, Al Van Camp, Eddie Connolly, Rabbit Maranville, Ed Montague and many many more. Both Ruth signatures and one of the Gehrig signatures appear on the inside cover of the book, which has broken off from the rest of the book. Book measures 6 x 4" and the hole-punched pages are held together by what appears to be the original lace. Pages show age-related color fading and soiling; some are stained and show minor creasing and chipping at the edges. This great collection of baseball signatures is not to be missed.
