1930s Japanese Babseball Silk Kimono

1930s Japanese Babseball Silk Kimono

Though the Japanese began playing baseball some 60 years earlier, the first professional league was established in 1936, around the same time this beautiful silk kimono was manufactured. Similar to the one in our last auction, this is from the same era and is decorated with bats, balls, mitts, trophies and even tennis racquets. The words "Homerun," "Caputain" and "Sefu" are also evident. The kimono is in VG condition and of the highest quality, though it does have some small moth holes.
