1930s Lou Gehrig Signed Photograph (JSA)

1930s Lou Gehrig Signed Photograph (JSA)

Presented is a signed 1930s Lou Gehrig photograph. The Hall of Fame first baseman was a fullback at Columbia University and even though "the Iron Horse" is in a suit in this photograph taken at a beach, anyone can sense the raw power generated by Gehrig's sloping shoulders and powerful legs. Gehrig played for the New York Yankees from 1923-39, and set a consecutive game played record for Major League Baseball in playing 2,130 straight games, his wondrous streak only ending after illness (later found to be ALS) forced him to take himself out of the Yankee lineup on May 2, 1939. Gehrig batted a lifetime .340, with 493 home runs, won a Triple Crown, was a 2-time AL MVP, and was a part of six World Championship teams. The photo measures approx. 2.4x3.5". It has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA certified AUTHENTIC AUTO. Also included is JSA certification.
