1930s Sinclair Babe Ruth Baseball Contest Ball

1930s Sinclair Babe Ruth Baseball Contest Ball

Seeing is believing. This is not the ball that we normally encounter with a ghost signature but instead is a specimen distinguished by a Babe Ruth stamped signature on a side panel in black. "Sinclair Babe Ruth Baseball Contest" appears on the sweet spot in black, while the opposite sweet spot is an "Official National League, Ford Frick" stamp with Spalding logo on the panel below. The contest referred to was an essay competition run by the Sinclair oil company and promoted on the company's radio program. Weekly prizes were disseminated such as these baseballs. This particular one is in EX condition.
