1930s "Victory" Baseball Kimono - The Nippon Collection
Large size, baseball-themed kimono with Amphora look. Japanese script is from Takamatas Commercial High School and Koryo High School from the national high school championship. Beautiful imagery such as a scoreboard, baseball glove, victory flag emanating from a trophy and more in geometric pattern. From the Nippon Baseball Kimono Collection, an important archive of baseball and other sports-themed kimonos recently discovered in Japan and exported to the United States. Compiled over many decades, they are the finest we have seen.
