1930s Yankee Pitcher Monte Pearson Photographs (20)
Monte Pearson threw a wicked curve ball that would propel the New York Yankees to many a victory. He is shown in this collection of (20) wire and news service photographs beginning in 1937, as a young money pitcher for the Yanks, to 1962 as the Madera County Sanatarian accused of accepting bribes. Super images in here include a multi- frame photo of his winning pitch in game 2 of the '39 Series against the Reds. Photos measure 4.5 x 6.5 to 8x 11. Early, news service photos have original caption sheets affixed to versos. Super condition of the lot ranges from VG (due only to editing marks) to MT, with most on the better end.
