1931 Major League Tour of Japan Program

1931 Major League Tour of Japan Program

Rare program issued for the 1931 Major League baseball tour of Japan. The program, which is printed entirely in Japanese, features photos and brief biographies of all the American players, including Lou Gehrig, Lefty Grove, Rabbit Maranville, Mickey Cochrane, Al Simmons, Frankie Frisch, and George Kelly. This was the first of two celebrated baseball tours of Japan made by Major League players during the decade, with the second occurring in 1934. Programs from the first tour are much scarcer than those from 1934 and this is one of only several we have offered. The program (7.5x10.25") displays a stain along the base that affects each of the pages, as well as small chips and tears along the borders. Good condition overall.
