1931 Tour Of Japan Scorebook
This historic artifact is a Speed Rail Baseball Scorebook produced by Tokyo Kobunsha. It was once the property of "S. Koyama," who used it during 1931 and 1932 to score by hand various baseball games he attended usually at Meiji Jingu Stadium. Most of the games are from the golden era of the Tokyo Big Six University League and feature the names and exploits of many future Japan Pro Baseball Hall of Famers. Even more interesting to American fans is that all six games played at Jingu Stadium during the 1931 U.S. Major League All Star Tour of Japan featuring Lou Gehrig and Lefty Grove are hand-scored in this very volume! Additionally, there is one game of the 1932 University of Michigan Japan Tour vs. Hosei U. There are games from the National High School Baseball Championships at Koshien. All told, 54 games are scored with player names, game dates, and venues written in Japanese. Truly a one-of-a-kind item!
