1932 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed OAL Reach Baseball (PSA)

1932 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed OAL Reach Baseball (PSA)

Ruth and Gehrig dual-signed ball from the halcyon days of the New York Yankees. The dynamic duo were the cornerstone of the Yankee lineup in the 1920s and '30s and combined to win four World Series during the period, including the year the ball was signed, 1932. It was in the '32 World Series that Ruth hit his famous "called shot," one of the most iconic home runs in baseball history. The two compiled their best statistical year in 1927, when Gehrig was named MVP and Ruth hit 60 home runs, as part of a lineup dubbed "Murderer's Row." Ruth's signature appears on the sweet spot with Gehrig's on a panel. The Official American League (Harridge) Reach ball rates 5/10, while Ruth's sig rates 7/10 and Gehrig's 4/10. There is a handwritten date on the north panel, "6-6-32" and "9-0" on the south panel. The Yankees did not a have game on that date, but it is possible this was a game ball from the day before and then signed the following day. Notably, four days earlier, on June 4, Gehrig hit four home runs in one game. Nearly a century later, Ruth and Gehrig are two of the most coveted names in the industry, with their clout in the game very much intact. Comes certified by PSA.

Addendum: It is quite possible that this is a game used Barnstorming baseball, but no records of the game prevent us from knowing for certain.
