1932 World Series Babe Ruth Home Run Wire Photo (8x10")
Vintage wire photo from Game 3 of the 1932 World Series, the berth place of Babe Ruth’s famed called home run shot. Here he is, in his first at-bat in Chicago, belting a two-run homer. 4 innings later, after much razzing from the Cubs dugout and a thrown lemon from the crowd, Ruth would make a gesture with his bat to the bleachers in centerfield. He proceeded to connect on the very next pitch from Charlie Root, depositing the ball into the bleachers to the exact spot where he pointed. Great photo in fabulous contrast, shows the Babe in classic follow through, as both catcher and umpire gaze upward at the shot he just launched. Original caption still attached to verso. This was Babe Ruth's last World Series appearance. Photo is EX-MT.
