1932 World Series Photograph of Lou Gehrig Meeting James Corbett
Lou Gehrig and "Gentleman Jim" Corbett met during the World Series, September 28, 1932. The Yankees went on to defeat the Chicago Cubs. Photo is horizontal in format, 10" x 8" and has a small chip in the upper right corner and 2 small 1/4" tears. Photo overall is in very good condition with a nice gloss surface and good contrast. True to his name, former heavyweight boxing champion "gentleman Jim" is pictured wearing a suit with top hat, coat and scarf, extending his glove laden hand to Gehrig to shake.
