1934 Tour of Japan Original Newspaper Insert
A real rarity from halfway around the globe, this is an actual insert into the Yomiuri newspaper, picturing Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig vs. Eiji Sawamura & Victor Starffin in the greatest international meeting of all: a 1934 barnstorming tour. The piece measures 14 1/8" x 10 1/8" with some slight, minor tearing. It is framed and of great overall quality. Photos such as this had always been tough and underrated. Now they are virtually impossible to find. The United States romped in the November 1934 tour, winning all 23 games by an average score of more than 11-2.
