Vintage first generation Babe Ruth photo in its original frame shows Ruth in follow through, sporting the Boston Braves uniform he wore to finish his career as a player back in 1935. After Ruth was released by the Yankees in 1934, he joined the Boston Braves, and in true Ruthian form, rounded out another chapter in his storied life when he smashed 3 homers in one of his last games at Forbes Field, including one that cleared the roof over the stands in the outfield! The signature and inscription are vintage to 1935 as well, and Ruth has added the exact date at the bottom: “To Paul Martin [Matty’s son] From Babe Ruth Aug. 24, 1935” in black fountain pen. This is one of the rare examples of a Babe Ruth signature, which is so lovingly preserved, that it remains close to perfect, almost as it was the day it was signed. This one grades a “9.5” out of a possible 10. Photo is virtually untouched and NRMT. Matted to 6.5x9”, framed to 10x12”. With original backing.
