1936 Babe Ruth Signed Check to A.G Spalding & Bros. (PSA)
Authentic check signed by Babe Ruth and filled out in the Bambino's hand. Chemical Bank check measures 8.5x3.25" and is filled out in black fountain pen, with hand-numbered date of Aug 29, 1936, to A.G. Spalding and Bros. in the amount of $13.77. Signed in the bottom right corner, "GH Ruth." Back is blank except for cancellation stamp dated September 4. The date is significant in that it was the year that Babe was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame as one of its five inaugural members. Spalding was a big name in its own right, as AG Spalding revolutionized retail sales of professional and recreational sports equipment in the late 1800s, and the company to which this check was written still bears his name today. Encapsulated as PSA Authentic, there appears to be a small crease to the middle top and a couple of minor stains do not at all detract from the appearance of this exceptional keepsake.
