1937 New York Giants Team Signed Baseball
Official National League baseball was retrieved by a former Polo Grounds security employee, who obtained all of the signatures in person, and saved by his son for almost 70 years. Twenty three bold (8-9 / 10) black fountain pen autographs from the N.L. Champs including: Baker, Bartell, Berger, Castleman, Chiozza, Coffman, Daning, Davis, Gumbert, Haslin, Hubbell, Leiber, Leslie, Madjeski, Mancuso, McCarthy, Melton, Moore, Ott, Ripple, Schumacher, Smith, and Terry (Mgr). Well used and soiled sphere shows great evidence of game use and has a small mounting hole on one of the sweet spots (slightly affects the Gumbert and Mancuso signatures) where it was once mounted for display. Accompanied by a copy of the LOA that was originally issued for the piece.
