1939 Alejandro Oms In Venezuela Photo (2.5"x3.5")

1939 Alejandro Oms In Venezuela Photo (2.5"x3.5")

One of the truly great international players of any era, Alejandro Oms was a colorful character whose antics entertained the masses and talents, according to many baseball experts, should allow him a place in Cooperstown. A champion in Santa Clara, Havana, Almendares, and Cienfuegos, he is pictured here in this 2.5" x 3.5" photo donning the uniform he wore during his short stint in Venezuela. That year, in 1939, Oms played only 9 games for Vargas, all of which were during the National Championship Series. Astonishingly he posted 9 hits in only 19 at bats for a .474 average. Overall NRMT and undoubtedly the only original photo of its kind.
