1941-1942 Neil Colville New York Rangers Game Worn Wool Sweater

1941-1942 Neil Colville New York Rangers Game Worn Wool Sweater

Neil McNeil Colville played for the New York Rangers along with his brother Mac where they won the Stanley Cup in 1940. Neil joined the Rangers in 1936 and centered the "Bread Line" for his brother and Alex Shibicky. After serving in the army during World War II, Neil and his brother returned to the Rangers, this time as defensemen. Neil became the first NHLer to make the All-Star Team at forward and defense. He retired in 1949 and became the Rangers' youngest coach a year later. Colville was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1967. Home blue jersey with "Rangers" diagonally down the front and number "6" on the back. "O'Shea" and size "42" tag on the inside of the front tail. Very nice use including pilling inside, with at least 10 team repairs and unrepaired holes from wear, all-original. A New York Rangers legend, a fantastic jersey!
