1968 Gerry Schultz Fiberglass Goalie Mask

1968 Gerry Schultz Fiberglass Goalie Mask

The name of Gerry Shultz is well known among goalies from Western Canada. This Edmonton mask maker fitted pros and amateurs in the Edmonton area throughout the Sixites and Seventies. His clients included WHA and NHL goalies such as Ken Brown, Chris Worthy, Jack Norris and most notably Grant Fuhr (his first Oilers masks). Late Sixties model, built by Gerry to wear himself while with the Lethbridge Border Kings. A heavy mask reminiscent of those manufactured by Jacques Plante around the same time (this one is more solid). Gerry’s manufacturer stamping is still there on the inside. Interior padding and leather backplate are intact.
