1942 Babe Ruth Draft of Quote for Lou Gehrig Book
Babe Ruth typed letter written by Joe Bihler, Babe Ruth & Christy Walsh's right-hand man. In the letter to Taylor Spink of the Sporting News, "Ruth" explains how he is looking forward to reading the life story of Lou Gehrig that will be coming out shortly. He goes on to say, "I think that the entire baseball world knows of my affection for Lou Gehrig." This interesting draft copy reads, "(Babe Ruth's letterhead)" across the top and features a small note held with paperclip that says "for Babes's sig." Nice piece.From the estate of Joe Bihler, the right hand man of Babe Ruth's agent Christy Walsh and in turn Ruth himself.
