1943-44 Cincinnati Clowns Real Photo Postcard (ex-Buster Haywood)

1943-44 Cincinnati Clowns Real Photo Postcard (ex-Buster Haywood)

This rarest of real photo postcards originates from the collection of player Buster Haywood. The team was originally called "The Ethiopian Clowns" and was founded in Miami, Florida, in 1935 or 1936. This card is from 1943, when the Clowns joined the Negro American League and relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, where they became the Cincinnati Clowns. They are wearing major health patches circa 1943-44, and the card is vintage signed by "Buster Haywood 24C." For clarification purposes, "24" is his uniform number, with "c" for catcher. Condition is NRMT, in uncirculated condition.
