1943-44 Montreal Canadians Stanley Cup Banner

1943-44 Montreal Canadians Stanley Cup Banner

The first of its kind to come through out doors, this 8’ x 44” Stanley Cup Banner from the 1943-44 NHL season is an amazing piece of hockey history. A white flag with blue lettering, it reads "COUPE STANLEY CUP" at the top, and "1943-44" at the bottom. At its center, a gorgeous red and blue CH logo proclaims the Montreal Canadians victorious in their match for the coveted trophy against the Chicago Black Hawks. At the bottom, two wooden rods have been inserted into the trim for stability. The banner is signed by Canadians' winger, Maurice "Rocket" Richard, known for his incredible five-goal offense against the Toronto Maple Leafs that year which led his team to the finals. Autograph reads "Maurice Richards 9" in large black sharpie. Front and back of this piece are identical, save for the signature. A stunning find; not to be passed up.
