1943 All Star Game Old Timers Photo by Izzy Kaplan
Long time press photographer Izzy Kaplan captured these All-Star Old-Timers at Polo Grounds, N.Y., August 26, 1943. A cameraman for the NY Daily Mirror since 1925, Kaplan and his cigar were well known to sports fans, who sometimes cheered his appearance at sports events just as much as they did for the athletes. The photograph print boasts major athletes such as: (Top) Duffy Lewis, Eddie Collins, Roger Bresnahan, Connie Mack, Bill Klem, Jack Murray, George Sisler (Bottom) Honus Wagner, Frankie Frisch, Babe Ruth, Walter Johnson and Tris Speaker.
