Ninety-eight names strong, one signature perfect - that of Babe Ruth - on this small page listing the “Players with Lifetime Major League Batting Average of over .300,” from the 1943 Famous Sluggers Yearbook. The New York Yankee slugger signs vertically in a rich, jet black ink along an empty space on the list - a perfect 10/10. The Babe died a few years after this, and his high place among these amazing hitters is a testament; he stands in 1943 at #11, between #10 Jesse Burkett and #12 Harry Heilmann.
