1943 East-West Negro League All Star Game Oversized Photograph
Check out this terrific image of 51,723 mostly brown faces on hand to watch Satchel Paige pitch three scoreless innings and win the East-West exhibition, 2-1. We believe this was taken by Life Magazine photographer George Strock, who shot Paige for that periodical. Distinguished by its awesome clarity, this extremely rare crowd shot measures 11" x 14" and captures a mercifully outdated era in American history.
